PTI™ 250 Interferometer

The PTI™ 250 line is a family of small-aperture interferometers that provide full 3D surface and wavefront maps, and radius of curvature measurements, of lenses and lens systems. These systems are true ZYGO interferometers, and are the first small-optics interferometers that correlate with measurements made by ZYGO's world-standard GPI™ and VeriFire™ interferometer systems.

PTI™ 250 systems feature proven ZYGO measurement technology and are reliable, easy to use, and an excellent return on your investment. They are equally well suited for process control in high-volume production, or demanding research in an R&D lab.

PTI™ 250RS - This research-grade interferometer (photo above) features λ/6000 (1σ) repeatability, and is equipped with FlashPhase™ for robust measurements in environments with air turbulence and/or vibration. The fully-configurable ZYGO MetroPro® GUI makes it ideal for research and quality control use.

PTI™ 250P - Designed for production use (with optional vibration isolation). Features λ/6000 (1σ) repeatability. The software uses MetroPro® algorithms and has a fixed-format GUI in the local language of your choice.

PTI™ 250F - Designed for production use. Features λ/5000 (1σ) repeatability. Equipped with FlashPhase™ for robust measurements in noisy production environments, without vibration isolation. The software uses MetroPro® algorithms and has a fixed-format GUI in the local language of your choice.

Software

Two basic Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) are available. For research and quality control applications, the PTI™ 250RS employs ZYGO's versatile and fully configurable MetroPro® software. For production environments, the PTI™ 250P and PTI™ 250F have a fixed-format display in the local language of choice. Numeric results include P-V, RMS, Coma, Astigmatism, and a full set of Zernike polynomials, along with a full 3D color surface map and live video image. All measurement results are calculated using MetroPro® algorithms for optimum accuracy and correlation.

Accessories

Just like the systems themselves, the PTI™ 250 optical accessories are designed for high performance at economical prices. A full line of optics are available to meet the requirements of most production applications. For 25-mm aperture testing, there are two flats (4% and Dynaflect) and seven transmission spheres (f/0.58 - f/4.8). These accessories attach to the PTI™ 250 using a "breach-lock" mechanism and are pre-aligned to the instrument, saving time in setup. For larger optics, a converter is available to increase the aperture to 50 mm, and can be used with two flats (4% and Dynaflect) or six transmission spheres (f/0.67 - f/3.3). Finally, when measuring small flat surfaces, or the transmitted wavefront of small optics, a 25-mm to 6-mm aperture converter is available, and includes an integrated transmission flat.

There are two radius of curvature measurement options available for the PTI™ 250. For shorter radii, the first kit attaches to the fine focus adjustment of the vertical workstation and offers 30 mm of travel with a resolution of 1 µm. For high volume production, or when measuring longer radii, a 300-mm motorized option with a resolution of 0.5 µm is available.

The ZYGO PTI™ 250 mounting accessories provide an excellent foundation for your test setups. Tip/tilt stages, XY translation stages, a self-centering element holder, and a lens nest kit provide all the functions to get you started. Custom fixturing for unique test setups can be mounted to access points in the PTI™ 250 base.
